NON PROFIT
Films have a special ability to evoke compassion and inspire people toward action. In fact, it was a film by a well known non profit - Charity Water - that propelled me into my filmmaking career. Though I had heard about the water crisis, this film helped me to see it. I was so moved by the powerful content that I knew I had to act. When I went on to become a filmmaker, I knew films like these would be part of my focus - beautiful films that inspire others to participate in causes bigger than themselves.
Go & Tell
Go and Tell is a non profit organization focused in Masaka, Uganda. As director, cinematographer, and assisting editor, I was commissioned to tell the story of Go and Tell and the incredible people they serve. My goal was not to evoke pity but instead to show real people who expressed real need while capturing the beauty and joy I found among the people there.
ALL IN
Having worked in the non profit world for some time, I understand that fundraising is both necessary and important. This video was created for Rock Church’s giving and awareness campaign called “All In.”
A NEW ERA
This video was filmed as promotional material for a women’s conference. It was important to the creative director that this wasn’t just a promotional video but an extension of the conference theme and would communicate a moving message.
RED/BLUE
Visuals play a huge role in getting people to pay attention to a message, and I think this video demonstrates that. The colors, the cinematography, and the overall edit grab the attention of the audience and cause them to listen.
