MUSIC
Nearly every video I film includes some element of music, but I love when I have the opportunity to put music on display as a key component of film. The examples below include a variety of styles, from outdoor music videos to studio sessions to concerts.
FAITHFUL
This music video was filmed on a very windy day in Anza-Borrego Desert State Park as a segment of an hour long Easter broadcast that was featured on Fox 5. Because we were on a hard deadline, this was our only day to film. After dodging the tumbleweeds and wiping the dirt off of our camera lenses (and our eyes), we were able to squeeze in three takes within golden hour.
RISEN
This video was also included in the Easter broadcast mentioned above, which covered everything from desert to city to the stage. There is beauty in simple productions, but I get really excited about the high energy atmosphere and logistical challenges of large scale productions like this one.
THE BLOOD
Sometimes filmmaking takes you to remote places. This video was filmed on a large ranch east of San Diego on a cold spring night. The area was covered in roaming cattle, but we made it through filming without too much hassle. This is one of my favorite songs, so Iām glad I got to be part of it.
THIRD OPTION
This music video was shot to be shown for the Third Option Conference. It was played in sync with a live performance by the artist as an opening act for the conference.
THIS IS HOW I FIGHT MY BATTLES
This was one of many music videos shot during the pandemic as a source of worship media for online church services for Rock Church. I look back on this season with so much appreciation for the talented filmmakers and crew I got to work with.
FLOODGATE
Rock Church is known for incredible worship and large scale worship events. I loved having the opportunity to participate in these events and combine my passion for music and film.
